Amazing Fantasty 15

Cover after Restoration.  Gallery pictures show front cover with pieces missing, detached from spine and general wear and tear.  Cover was dry cleaned with erasure on white areas only.  Cover float washed from the inside to remove any discoloration, then carefully pressed to remove all creases and dents. Pieces filled using Japanese tissue and tears mended.  Color touch using acrylic on mends and fills, interior and exterior of cover.  Attention to detail of lettering, buildings and color matching. Restored cover re-assembled to interior and book pressed intact.

Four Color 16 Mickey Mouse The Phantom Blot
A wonderful example of a book that needed structural repair on the cover and once mends and fills were complete, color touch with acrylic and watercolor finishes the detail.

Ringside Baseball Cards

Large waterstain on upper left of Gus Lesnevitch and lower margin of Bob Murphy. While repeated washing/pressing of cards did not completely remove staining, it is evident how much cleaner and crisper they became after simple treatment.

New York World's Fair, 1939

An extensive example of restoration..  Interior was already detached at the spine where the glue was old and crusted.  48 pages to this book, in two sections where the first folio wrapped itself around 24 pages and then another folio wrapped around the second 24.  Paper was fragile in some sections and w/o careful repair book would not have been preserved.  Both sections needed fills at spine and then they were laid on top of one another and original staples re-punctured through the entire book. Restored interior reattached to spine using archival buffer of heat set and adhesive.  Front and back cover restored to beautiful color by detailed inpainting along creases and small fills.
